Let Grammy Award winning drummer and Berklee professor Mark Walker show you the ins and outs of Jazz, Funk and Latin drumming. Topics include South American styles, Caribbean styles, adapting percussion patterns to the drum set, orchestration, soloing and more! Non-traditional approaches will also be demonstrated. As a child prodigy and son of the president of the Slingerland Drum Company Donny grew up totally immersed in drums. Under the wing of Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa he learned from the masters the secrets of swing. Donny held the drum chair in virtuoso singer/bandleader Mel Torme's band for 25 years. Donny has just released a book and DVD called "Swing Man". Come learn first hand the keeper of the swing drumming flame.
