Hand percussion is at the root of traditional rhythm music originating in the areas of Cuba, Brazil, and Africa.

At the Seattle Drum School we offer classes which explore this music allowing opportunities for a more complete education in the world of drumming. Afro-Cuban Ensemble explores the music of Cuba, Brazil, and West Africa through the study of rhythms and songs performed on traditional instruments.

SDS offers both private and ensemble instruction for hand percussion. Learn the basic skills in many Afro-Caribbean, Brazilian, and Middle-Eastern instruments such as congas, djembe, dumbek, tabla, and more.

Afro-Cuban Ensemble meets every Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
