Colin has over 15 years of performance experience and 10 years of teaching experience.  He studied jazz guitar performance at North Texas University and University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.  He graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Music degree from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.  While at Wisconsin he performed in several Mid-western collegiate jazz festivals, earning an “Outstanding Soloist” award at the Notre Dame jazz festival and “Best Jazz Combo” award at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire jazz festival.  Among the many great musicians Colin studied with are Jack Grassel, Michael Irish, and Fred Hamilton.

Colin moved to Seattle in the fall of 1997.  He’s performed in a wide range of musical settings, from jazz to classic rock, with many great Seattle musicians including fellow Drum school instructors Mike Stone, Ryan Burns, Marc Fendel, Ivo Nakov, Geoff Harper, Sarah Allen, Kristy Karen Smith, and Steve Smith.  Colin continues to perform in various groups as well as performing original music as a singer/guitarist songwriter.

Colin has been an instructor at the Drum School since 2004, teaching acoustic and electric guitar in blues, jazz, rock, and folk styles.
